My grandmother is standing in front of a camel that is at the Malpe beach near Udupi in Karnataka, India. The photo was taken in January of 2021. Malpe beach is an incredibly popular beach on the Konkan coast, which spreads from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra to Mangalore in Karnataka. The camels are not endemic to this side of the Indian subcontinent and have been imported from the northwest deserts of Gujrat and Rajasthan.
Also, more towards the tagline- the camel kept staring out at the ocean and was continuously tugging at its tightened leash to the wooden platform.
